If we were to guess, it has something to do with the president of FromSoftware, Hidetaka Miyazaki.īloodborne is Miyazaki's favorite game. It's curious why Sony refuses to do this. It's a travesty knowing that Sony can just update Bloodborne with minimal effort to at least make it more playable on the PS4 Pro and the PS5. Sony can do it at any time they like without FROM's support. It's not true, and there are literally zero technical barriers between Bloodborne and a PC/60fps PS5 port/re-release. I don't know where the "FROMSOFTWARE engine is messy / spaghetti code" idea keeps coming from. At the moment, Bloodborne is the only FromSoftware game still stuck to 30 frames per second. McDonald elaborated that it will only take changing two lines of code for Bloodborne to support 60 frames per second. Watch this story and subscribe to Xfire on YouTube. But, if we believe McDonald, the lack of Bloodborne updates, whether it's a PS5 version or a PC port, doesn't have anything to do with FromSoftware's unavailability. Because of this, neither FromSoftware nor Sony will touch Bloodborne at all. Grubb recently explained that FromSoftware is currently too busy to work on anything that isn't Elden Ring. Many still consider Bloodborne the best FromSoftware game despite the success of Elden Ring. Having said that, we're curious to find out more about what McDonald just said. Unfortunately, it appears that Sony has no plans to listen to fan feedback. Many are asking for a chance to play Bloodborne at 4K resolution and 60 frames per second on the PlayStation 5 and/or the PC. However, unlike other best-selling PS4 titles, Sony hasn't updated Bloodborne. With two million units sold, Bloodborne was one of the best-selling games on the PlayStation 4. This is what Lance McDonald said when he refuted Jeff Grubb's earlier claims that Sony will need FromSoftware to work on anything related to Bloodborne. "Sony can do it at any time they like without FROM's support." If we were to guess, Sony is just waiting on Hidetaka Miyazaki.
